In the Malaysian context, the successful implementation of a comprehensive and sustainable da’wah programme largely depends on the capacity of school principals and da’wah coordinators to integrate Islamic values into the school culture. However, several challenges hinder the effective execution of these programmes, including resource limitations, contextual variations among schools, and differing levels of community support. This study adopts a qualitative research design using a case study approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with eight informants—comprising four principals and four da’wah coordinators—from selected primary schools in Manjung District. Thematic analysis, conducted using NVivo software, revealed three core themes: (1) clarity of vision, collaboration, and strategic planning; (2) the influence of leadership on school culture, student engagement, and programme sustainability; and (3) the need for professional training, standardised modules, adequate resources, and robust community networks. The findings indicate that strategic leadership significantly contributes to the transformation of school culture, enhances student participation in spiritual programmes, and sustains consistent da’wah practices. Nevertheless, the study also identified major limitations such as insufficient training opportunities and the absence of a standardised da’wah framework. Based on these insights, it is recommended that the Ministry of Education Malaysia reinforce strategic leadership training and formulate a flexible, standardised da’wah framework tailored to diverse school contexts. In addition, the active participation of external community stakeholders, the empowerment of young teachers and students, and systematic monitoring are proposed as essential strategies to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of holistic da’wah management in schools.

Rosyatisah Binti Ruslan Bity Salwana Alias Mohamed Yusoff Mohd Nor ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 17 01 1 25 10.17576/alhikmah.2025.1701/551 ASIMILASI BUDAYA GOLONGAN MUALAF DALAM MASYARAKAT MELAYU DI KELANTAN: ANALISIS KAJIAN RINTIS https://spaj.ukm.my/jalhikmah/index.php/jalhikmah/article/view/552
This study aims to determine the construct validity and reliability of a research instrument developed to examine the cultural assimilation of the mualaf (converts to Islam) within the Malay community in Kelantan. The study employed a survey design using a quantitative approach. A total of 30 mualaf in Kelantan were selected as research samples using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument comprises 56 items and is divided into five sections: (1) respondent demographics, (2) the influence of cultural assimilation of mualaf in the Malay community in Kelantan, (3) acceptance of cultural assimilation, (4) Malay cultural practices influencing the assimilation process, and (5) challenges faced by mualaf in assimilating into the Malay community in Kelantan. The reliability of the instrument was determined based on Cronbach’s Alpha values. The instrument demonstrated a high level of reliability, with all constructs exceeding a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.600. In conclusion, the instrument possesses strong construct validity and a high level of reliability. The findings showed that the instrument is reliable, with Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients ranging from 0.877 to 0.957, indicating high to very high reliability. Furthermore, this study has important implications for mualaf, individuals, families, communities, the body of knowledge, and Islamic organisations engaged in da'wah efforts for converts.
Wan Zuhaira Nasrin Wan Zainudin Abdul Ghafar Don Razaleigh Muhamat@Kawangit Siti Aishah Yahya ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 17 01 26 45 10.17576/alhikmah.2025.1701/552 PEMIKIRAN IBN ATA ALLAH DALAM MEMBANGUNKAN RESILIENSI https://spaj.ukm.my/jalhikmah/index.php/jalhikmah/article/view/556
This paper is a study on a Sufi figure named by Ibn `Ata’ Allah al-Sakandari. This research is a descriptive qualitative analysis, aimed at examining the character and Sufi thought of by Ibn `Ata’ Allah al-Sakandari, particularly in the concept of isqat tadbir al- 'Uyub. This study makes a significant contribution to the discourse on Sufi thought. To achieve the research objectives, the library method was used as the main method of data collection. The findings show that by Ibn `Ata’ Allah al-Sakandari is a figure with Sufi thought based on Ahli Sunnah wal Jama’ah, as he elaborated in his book al-Tanwir Fi Isqat al-Tadbir. This book is a translation of the original work al-Tanwir Fi Isqat al-Tadbir by `Uthman Shihab al-Din al-Funtiani, written in Arabic by Ibn `Ata’ Allah al-Sakandari and was titled Tanwīr al-Qulūb fī Isqāṭ Tadbīr al-`Uyūb. The concept of isqat tadbir al- 'Uyub, as presented by Ibn `Ata’ Allah al-Sakandari focuses on the complete submission to Allah's will to build resilience. In this context, isqat tadbir al- 'Uyub means abandoning personal planning and surrendering all affairs to Allah. This does not imply a lack of effort, but rather that efforts are made with full reliance and confidence that the outcomes are from Allah by Ibn `Ata’ Allah al-Sakandari’s approach can be applied in daily life to build resilience.
Nor Shakirah Azizan Siti Hajar Mohamad Yusoff Syed Hadzrullathfi Syed Omar ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 17 01 46 66 10.17576/alhikmah.2025.1701/556 KERANGKA KONSEP ETIKA PENGUCAPAN POLITIK BERASASKAN NILAI AL-QURAN DAN MAQASID AL-SHARIAH https://spaj.ukm.my/jalhikmah/index.php/jalhikmah/article/view/558
In the landscape of modern democracy, political communication has become a primary tool for gaining voter support. However, it is often tainted by slander, factual manipulation, and emotional provocation that conflict with moral values and social harmony. In the context of Muslim-majority countries such as Malaysia, there is an urgent need to develop an ethical framework for political communication that aligns with Islamic principles. This study employs a normative qualitative approach in the form of a conceptual model grounded in Islamic epistemology. The analysis is based on Quranic verses, hadiths, as well as classical and contemporary texts in the fields of communication ethics and Islamic political thought. The framework is developed through three phases: textual analysis, value synthesis, and conceptual model construction. The findings conclude four main principles of Islamic political communication ethics: (i) adherence to Islamic law, (ii) truthfulness, (iii) moral conduct, and (iv) alignment with the maqāṣid al-sharīʿah. These principles reject all forms of hate speech, slander, or emotional manipulation, while emphasising the importance of social unity, justice, and societal well-being. This study makes a significant contribution to the development of an indigenous theory of Islamic political communication rooted in divine values. It also challenges the dominance of secular and pragmatic Western communication theories by positioning political communication as a form of dakwah that upholds integrity, truthfulness, and wisdom.
Muhamad Faisal Ashaari Nurul Ain Wahidah Razali ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-29 2025-06-29 17 01 67 88 10.17576/alhikmah.2025.1701/558 PRINSIP TADBIR URUS INSTITUSI ZAKAT DAN BAITULMAL MENURUT AL-MAWARDI DAN APLIKASINYA DI MALAYSIA https://spaj.ukm.my/jalhikmah/index.php/jalhikmah/article/view/561
Yusof Hilmi Bin Bakru Rozi Novaadila Erizal Hasanah Abd KHafidz ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-06-30 2025-06-30 17 01 89 111 10.17576/alhikmah.2025.1701/561 HAJI ABDULLAH AL-QARI HAJI SALLEH (AQHAS) DAN SUMBANGANNYA DALAM BIDANG PENTERJEMAHAN DI MALAYSIA https://spaj.ukm.my/jalhikmah/index.php/jalhikmah/article/view/540
Haji Abdullah Al-Qari bin Haji Salleh was a religious scholar who authored 350 published works covering various fields such as Usuluddin, Syariah, Tasawuf, Tarbiyah, and others before his passing. At the same time, there remain 153 of his works that have yet to be published.
