Abstract

This paper presents an introduction and discussion into some questions with regards to the design of mosque. The main purpose of this writing is to provide a background information to better understand the position of the study on Malay heritage. This paper has four main sections. The first part explains the meaning or understanding of the mosque in Islamic culture. The second part presents the reasons that affect the design of a building's architecture so that those who are not directly educated on the architecture field would understand the exact cause of most architectural designs of buildings that are often thought of as mere architectural or architectural masterpieces. The third part presents the mosque architecture discourse from the design point of view and the fourth and final part presents a specific discourse about the heritage mosque in the Malay World.
