Abstract

Amalan menabung adalah penting bagi membantu perkembangan ekonomi masyarakat juga dapat meningkatkan kadar tabungan negara. Kesedaran berkaitan kepentingan pelaburan di kalangan masyarakat Malaysia telah wujud tetapi tahapnya masih rendah. Justeru itu kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalpasti sejauh mana program tanggungjawab sosial syarikat (CSR) dapat membantu menangani isu ini. Program Seminar 360 Hari 1 Malaysia anjuran Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), Kuala Lumpur dipilih bagi mencapai tujuan ini. Elemen-elemen tahap pengetahuan, kesedaran, kefahaman, ketersampaian maklumat dan sikap berkaitan pelaburan yang seterusnya mempengaruhi keputusan pelaburan peserta program akan dikaji. Seramai 75 orang peserta yang menyertai program ini telah dipilih sebagai responden. Hasil kajian menunjukkan tahap kesedaran pelaburan adalah tinggi, diikuti tahap kefahaman pelaburan, tahap pengetahuan pelaburan dan tahap ketersampaian maklumat berkaitan pelaburan. Namun sikap terhadap pelaburan bagi peserta masih berada pada tahap sederhana. Hasil analisa kajian mendapati Program Seminar 360 hari berpotensi membantu peserta membuat keputusan dalam pelaburan. Program CSR yang menekankan kepada pendidikan dan pelaburan ini cenderung untuk menarik minat pengguna melibatkan diri dalam aktiviti pelaburan serta menjadi pemangkin untuk merealisasikan potensi peningkatan pelaburan di Malaysia.

ABSTRACT

 

The practice of saving money is important to help the economic development of the community and also increase the rate of national savings. Awareness on the importance of investments among Malaysian society has existed but the level is still low. Therefore, this study aims to identify how corporate social responsibility program (CSR) can help address this issue A 360 Days 1 Malaysia Seminar Program organized by the Perbadanan National Berhad (PNB), Kuala Lumpur was chosen to achieve this goal. Elements on the level of knowledge, awareness, understanding, accessibility of information and attitude towards investments which in turn affect the investment decisions by program participants will be studied. A total of 75 participants who joined this program has been selected as respondents. The results showed a high level of awareness on investment, followed by the understanding of investment, knowledge of investment and the level of accessibility of information related to investments. However, the participants' attitude toward investment is found at a moderate level. Results of the analysis showed that the 360-days Seminar Program indicates the potential of helping the participants in the investment decision-making. The CSR programs that emphasize on education and investment is likely to attract participants to engage in investment activity as well serves as a catalyst for the realization of increased investment among society in Malaysia.
