Results: Most members of Nuaulu tribe have “high perception†towards practise of pregnancy in seclusion. As an example, they have perception that a mother should giving childbirth in Posuno rather than in a Public Healthcare Institution.  In addition, our respondents still possess the perception that if a mother has done something wrongs (e.g. a mistake, sin, etc), the process of giving childbirth will have certain difficulties. They also believe that bleeding during the process of giving childbirth is common and should not to be worried about. Finally, there is no correlation between Nuaulu’s perception and Nuaulu’s tradition in regard to pregnancy in seclusion; nevertheless, Nualu’s tribe still show their obedience to their cultural tradition in Village Rohua, Seram Island, Regency Central Maluku.

Conclusion: The majority of Nuaulu’s women have a perception that giving birth in Posuno is better than in public healthcare. In addition, giving birth in Posuno is meant to protect the baby and mother from devil. Finally, KIE (Komunication, Informasi, dan Edukasi) is needed for traditional leader and witchdoctor in order to enhance their knowledge about a proper way giving birth according to medical recommendation.
