LEADERSHIP SKILLS IN THE STORY OF PROPHET SULAIMAN AS WITH HUDHUD (HOOPOE BIRD)

Abstract
Al-Quran has put forward many good example scholars for the people in the community to refer to. One of the interesting stories is about the Prophet Sulaiman with the hoopoe (hudhud) that was captured in surah Al Naml verses 20 to 28. The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of leadership in the story of Prophet Sulaiman and the hoopoe. The study uses document analysis as its method through the analysis of the commentaries of the Al-Quran and from the History book of Prophet Sulaiman himself. The findings showed that Prophet Sulaiman is an ideal and extraordinary leader that could hold the position of trust that was entrusted to him as the Prophet, Allah’s Rasul and King for his people. This inimitable values are not being possessed by others even after his decease.
