Abstract

Mosque is an important institution in the lives of Muslims worldwide. The central issue related to worship activities in the mosque is the overwhelming response from the Muslim and non-Muslim communities to programmes and activities organised by mosques, but the information dissemination of the planned activities is not proactively practiced and the target groups of the programmes are under-appreciated by the organisers and managements of the mosques. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the worship activities conducted by Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin (MTMZA), Putrajaya and to identify the types of programmes carried out for the local and surrounding communities. The research method used is qualitative study through content analysis method to obtain accurate information from library materials. This study can help to improve the quality of management of the implementation of the worship programmes at the mosque and others mosques nationwide through the mediums and target groups that are effective and comprehensive activities that are not traditional and not consistent with the development and demands of the age. In addition, the community wants to see mosques all over the country grow in progress and innovative in enhancing Islamic teachings through dynamic worship activities towards developing characters and human resources.
