Editorial and Review Timeline
Processing Timeframes
Manuscripts are accepted on a continuous basis throughout the year. Submissions are processed according to the journal’s editorial and peer-review workflow and, upon acceptance, are scheduled for the next available issue subject to editorial and production capacity.
The standard editorial process generally follows the timeline below:
1. Acknowledgement of Submission: Receipt of the manuscript is normally confirmed within one week.
2. Initial Editorial Screening: Manuscripts are normally screened within one to two weeks to assess their suitability for the journal’s scope, compliance with submission requirements, and overall scholarly quality.
3. Peer Review and Initial Decision: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review. The initial editorial decision is normally communicated within six to eight weeks, subject to reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.
4. Submission of Revised Manuscript: Where revisions are required, authors are normally given up to four weeks to submit the revised manuscript.
5. Final Editorial Decision: A final decision is normally communicated within two to four weeks after receipt of the revised manuscript. Additional time may be required where further review is necessary.
