Bahan lignoselulosa pokok Akasia (Acacia mangium) terpirolisis sebagai media tanaman tanpa tanah untuk penyemaian keratan batang pokok semambu

Kajian penghasilan lignoselulosa terpirolisis dari kayu Akasia sebagai media penanaman tanpa tanah dijalankan dengan menggunakan teknik pirolisis. Komponen lignoselulosa yang utama terdiri dari hemiselulosa, selulosa dan lignin. Kayu Akasia terlebih dahulu diuji dengan instrumen analisis termogravimetrik (TGA) untuk mengenalpasti suhu dan tempoh penguraian bagi komponen di dalam bahan lignoselulosa. Bahan linoselulosa kayu akasia kemudiannya melalui proses pirolisis menggunakan relau pada julat suhu 240°C - 380°C untuk tiga tempoh masa yang berbeza iaitu 15 minit, 35 minit dan 40 minit. Penentuan pH dan ujian penyerapan air serta pencirian menggunakan Spektroskopi Inframerah Transformasi Fourier (FTIR), Mikroskop Imbasan Elektron (SEM) dan BET dijalankan ke atas setiap sampel. Pemilihan sampel untuk dijadikan sebagai media tanaman telah dibuat berdasarkan keputusan ujian dan analisis yang telah dijalankan. Penyediaan media penanaman dibahagikan kepada tiga jenis iaitu dengan menggunakan 100% bahan ligonselulosa terpirolisis, 100% batu kerikil dan juga campuran batu kerikil dan bahan lignoselulosa terpirolisis (50:50). Ujian semaian menggunakan keratan batang pokok semambu (Azadirachta indica) telah dikaji. Semaian dibuat dalam tiga media yang berbeza untuk tempoh selama dua minggu.
