HUBUNGAN FAKTOR PENGETAHUAN KEMAHIRAN ABAD KE-21 DENGAN FAKTOR UMUR, KELAYAKAN AKADEMIK DAN PENGALAMAN MENGAJAR GURU BAHASA MELAYU DI DAERAH SIBU, SARAWAK (The Relationship of Knowledge Factor 21st Century Skill with Age Factor, Academic Qualification and Teaching Experience among Malay Language Teachers in Sibu District, Sarawak)

Abstract


Abstrak: Pelaksanaan pengajaran dan pembelajaran abad ke-21 telah diperkenalkan dalam Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia (PPPM) 2013-2025 sejajar dengan perkembangan pendidikan dalam abad ke-21. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan faktor pengetahuan  kemahiran abad ke-21 dengan faktor umur, kelayakan akademik dan pengalaman mengajar dalam kalangan guru Bahasa Melayu di daerah Sibu, Sarawak. Kajian yang dijalankan berbentuk tinjauan menggunakan soal selidik sebagai instrumen kajian. Seramai 210 orang guru Bahasa Melayu di daerah Sibu, Sarawak telah menjawab soal selidik tersebut. Sampel kajian dipilih secara rawak mudah. Data kajian dianalisis menggunakan pakej perisian statistik The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) versi 23.0. Statistik korelasi Pearson telah digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis kajian. Dapatan korelasi Pearson menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang tidak signifikan antara pengetahuan guru dalam menerapkan kemahiran abad ke-21 dengan faktor umur dan kelayakan akademik, tetapi mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan pengalaman mengajar. Implikasi kajian ialah faktor pengalaman mengajar memberi impak positif dalam menerapkan kemahiran abad ke-21 dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran guru Bahasa Melayu.

Abstract: The study aims to identify the readiness of Malay Language teachers teaching practice 21st century. The implementation of the teaching and learning of the 21st century have been introduced in the Malaysian Education Development Plan (2013-2025), in line with the development of education in the 21st century. This study aims to examine the relationship between teaching knowledge 21st century skill with age factor, academic qualification and teaching experience among Malay Language teachers in Sibu District, Sarawak. Studies conducted survey using a questionnaire as an instrument. About 210 teachers of English in Sibu, Sarawak had answered the questionnaire. The sample selected randomly. Data were analyzed using statistical software packages The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 23.0. Statistical Pearson correlation was used to describe and test the hypothesis. The Pearson correlation finding that there is no significant relationship between teacher knowledge to applying 21st century skil with age factor and academic qualification, but there is a significant relationship with teaching experience. The implication of this study is teaching experience factors have a positive impact on implementation 21st century skill in teaching and learning Malay Language teachers.
