Abstract

Abstrak

Terdapat 84% anak di Indonesia mengalami kekerasan di sekolah, (Plan International and International Center for Research on Women, 2015).

Abstract

There are 84% of children in Indonesia experiencing violence in schools (Plan International and International Center for Research on Women, 2015 ). The more students experience bullying into school, the higher the level of depression in students (Ramadhani & Retnowati, 2013). Initial survey results conducted by researchers in July-August 2013, to 739 high school students in Yogyakarta showed that 13.53% of students experience bullying and 53.58% of students have seen bullying behavior in schools. Bullying Prevention Programs (BPP) had been shown to reduce the occurrence of bullying into students, Albayrak et al (2016). Prevention programs through peers are one effort that can be done to prevent bullying behavior in schools. The purpose of this research is to test bullying prevention strategy through training program called " CARE School (CAring, Respect & Educate)" to improve peer facilitator skill by using case discussion method to convey information about bullying. The research design used was an untreated control group design with pre-test and post-test (Shadish & Campbell, 2002). Quantitative data analysis used non-parametric statistical test of Mann-Whitney U test by analyzing gain scores. The analysis showed significant differences between the experimental and control groups, there was an increase in knowledge and skills to lead the discussion of bullying cases in the experimental group treated (CARE School Training) compared to the non-receiving control group.
