Short Communication

Articles in this section should be no more than 3,000 words inclusive of references, figures, tables and other materials. The abstract should not exceed 150 words. The short communication papers should ideally focus on a single study that report new ideas or recent developments in psychology. They could also report a part of a bigger study that does not really fit the regular papers. A 'negative' result (e.g. psychological scale with low reliability or poor factor structure) could also be reported as a short communication.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Peer Review Process

A screening check for content will be carried out on every manuscript. The corresponding author will be contacted to send the revised version. Manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers (double blind). Decisions regarding the publication of a manuscript will be based on the Editorial Board’s recommendations. The manuscript will be evaluated based on its appropriateness for Jurnal Psikologi Malaysia, contribution to the discipline, cogency of analysis, conceptual breadth, clarity of presentation, and technical adequacy. To ensure that manuscripts are evaluated solely on their merit, the author(s)’ identity is concealed from reviewers during the review process. Manuscripts submitted by members of the journal’s Editorial Board are subjected to the same review process.

Credit and Authorship

The number of authors for each submission should not exceed five. Manuscripts that do not comply with the above-mentioned policy will be considered as non-admissible.
