PENERAPAN MODEL FALSAFAH BAHASA PENYATUAN BANGSA: SATU KAJIAN ANALISIS KEPERLUAN (Application of the National Unified Language Philosophy: A Study of Needs Analysis)

Abstract


Abstrak: Model Falsafah Bahasa Penyatuan Bangsa (MOFPEB) telah dibangunkan menggunakan kaedah kajian reka bentuk dan pembangunan yang telah diperkenalkan oleh Richey & Klein. Kajian ini meninjau keperluan penerapan model MOFPEB berdasarkan pandangan pelajar linguistik bahasa Melayu. Dalam fasa analisis keperluan ini, pengumpulan data dijalankan melalui kaedah tinjauan menggunakan soal selidik ke atas 40 orang pelajar linguistik bahasa Melayu di Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).  Analisis data dibahagikan kepada tujuh tema utama yang terkandung dalam model MOFPEB, iaitu tema konsep, matlamat, kepentingan, kurikulum, strategi pembelajaran pelajar, strategi pengajaran pensyarah serta pengujian dan penilaian. Dapatan kajian menujukkan bahawa model MOFPEB berpotensi untuk diterapkan dalam PdPc linguistik bahasa Melayu berdasarkan tahap persetujuan yang tinggi dan interprestasi yang memuaskan dalam kalangan responden kajian. Implikasi kajian ini membuktikan bahawa aspek penerapan nilai dan  potensi pelajar dalam PdPc linguistik bahasa Melayu  perlu berjalan seiring dengan aspek kandungan bagi melahirkan individu pelajar yang seimbang dari segi jasmani, emosi, rohani, intelektual dan sosial.

Abstract: The Model of the Language Integration Philosophy (MOFPEB) was developed using a research and development approach introduced by Richey and Klein. This study examines the need for adopting MOFPEB models based on the views of Malay linguistic students. In this analysis of needs, the data was collected through a survey using a questionnaire that is answered by 40 of Malay linguistics students at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Analytical data is divided into seven main themes in the MOFPEB model, namely theme concepts, goals, significance, curriculum, student learning strategies, lecturer teaching strategies and testing and evaluation. The findings show that the MOFPEB model has the potential to be applied in Malay-language and linguistic T&L based on huge number of agreement and satisfactory interpretation among the respondents. The implication of this study proves that the application of value and potential of students of  Malay Language and linguistics studies in T&L must be in line with the aspect of content in order to produce a balanced, physically, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and socially good students.
