RANGSANGAN VISUAL PROVOKATIF DALAM FACEBOOK: KESANNYA TERHADAP PERUBAHAN EMOSI BAGI INDIVIDU EKSTROVERT (PROVOCATIVE VISUAL STIMULI IN FACEBOOK: ITS EFFECT ON EMOTIONAL CHANGES FOR EXTROVERTED INDIVIDUALS)

Abstract


Penggunaan laman sosial (LS) tidak lagi bertindak sebagai medan interaksi malah individu turut memanfaatkannya untuk tujuan emosi. Dalam LS, individu gemar berkongsi video kerana perkongsian video digambarkan sebagai sebuah dokumentari mengenai suatu peristiwa yang bermakna. Tambahan lagi, penggunaan LS dikaitkan dengan personaliti yang berupaya menyembunyikan emosi masing-masing daripada pengetahuan pengguna lain. Individu Ekstrovert adalah personaliti yang dominan dalam bidang komunikasi. Persoalannya, sejauh manakah visual provokatif dalam LS akan mempengaruhi perubahan emosi bagi individu Ekstrovert? Sebuah kajian dijalankan secara atas talian (online experiment) dengan menggunakan reka bentuk eksperimen Kawalan Pasca uji. Seramai 30 individu Ekstrovert yang dipilih menerusi persampelan mudah telah ditambah masuk ke dalam kumpulan Facebook ‘Emosi dan EPQ’ dan dirangsang dengan sebuah visual provokatif. Pengumpulan data adalah menggunakan borang soal selidik sebelum dan selepas pendedahan rangsangan visual provokatif dalam Facebook. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan ujian berpasangan Wilcoxon-Signed Rank Test. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahawa rangsangan visual provokatif dalam Facebook telah meninggalkan perbezaan yang signifikan terhadap perubahan emosi bagi individu Ekstrovert (Z=-2.099, p=0.036). Majoriti individu Ekstrovert berhadapan dengan perubahan emosi yang lebih stabil dan turut aktif dalam memberikan respons mengenai visual yang ditonton. Kesimpulannya, LS seperti Facebook telah bertindak sebagai sebuah saluran yang membenarkan perkongsian pelbagai bahan sehinggalah ia meninggalkan kesan terhadap emosi bagi individu Ekstrovert. Mesej yang terkandung dalam visual provokatif yang ditonton turut memainkan peranan dalam perubahan emosi individu Ekstrovert untuk menjadi lebih stabil atau tidak stabil.
