HUBUNGAN ANTARA DETERMINASI KENDIRI, PERSONALITI BIG FIVE DENGAN MOTIVASI PENCAPAIAN DAN PENCAPAIAN AKADEMIK (THE RELATIONSHIP OF SELF DETERMINATION AND BIG FIVE PERSONALITY TO ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT)

Abstract


Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara determinasi kendiri, personaliti big five dengan motivasi pencapaian dan pencapaian akademik dalam kalangan pelajar. Kajian tinjauan soal selidik ini melibatkan 150 pelajar dari Fakulti Sains Sosial dan Kemanusiaan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Data yang diperoleh dalam kajian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) versi 19. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa regulasi autonomi (r = .40, k < .01) dan regulasi pengawalan (r = .43, k < .01) mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan motivasi pencapaian. Keputusan kajian juga mendapati bahawa regulasi autonomi (r = .45, k < .01) dan regulasi pengawalan (r = .29, k < .01) mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan pencapaian akademik. Keputusan korelasi juga menunjukkan bahawa personaliti big five, iaitu keterbukaan (r = .62, k < .01), kehematan (r = .56, k < .01), ekstraversi (r = .61, k < .01), kepersetujuan (r = .43, k < .01), dan neurotisisme (r = -.58, k < .01) mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan motivasi pencapaian. Hasil kajian menunjukkan keterbukaan (r = .31, k < .01), kehematan (r = .44, k < .01), ekstraversi (r = .30, k < .01), kepersetujuan (r = .22, k < .01), dan neurotisisme (r = -.23, k < .01) mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan pencapaian akademik. Kajian ini secara umumnya menjelaskan bahawa determinasi kendiri dan personaliti big five boleh digunakan untuk meramal hubungan dengan motivasi pencapaian dan pencapaian akademik pelajar.
