Kebolehpercayaan Instrumen Hubungan Penyeliaan, Tekanan dan Strategi Daya Tindak terhadap Prestasi Kaunselor Pelatih di Malaysia: Kajian Rintis (Reliability of the Supervisory Relationship, Stress and Coping Strategies Instruments on the Performance of Trainee Counselors in Malaysia: A Pilot Study)

Abstract


Kajian rintis ini dilaksanakan untuk mengkaji tahap kebolehpercayaan instrumen yang digunakan dalam kajian hubungan penyeliaan, tekanan  dan strategi daya tindak terhadap prestasi kaunselor pelatih di Malaysia.  Terdapat empat instrumen yang diguna dalam kajian ini iaitu instrumen The Short Supervisory Relationship Questionnaire (S-SRQ) untuk melihat hubungan penyeliaan kaunselor pelatih dengan penyelia akademik, instrumen Counselling Psychology Trainee Stress Survey (CPTSS) melihat tekanan yang dihadapi oleh kaunselor pelatih dan instrumen Coping Strategies Inventory Short Form (CSI-SF) untuk melihat strategi daya tindak yang diaplikasikan oleh kaunselor pelatih.  Manakala instrumen yang terakhir adalah Counselor Performance Inventory (CPI) yang melihat prestasi kaunselor pelatih di Malaysia.  Responden kajian terdiri daripada 30 orang kaunselor pelatih di salah satu universiti awam di Malaysia.  Untuk melihat tahap kebolehpercayaan, pengkaji menggunakan nilai cronbach’s alpha. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa tahap kebolehpercayaan instrumen berada di tahap yang tinggi (α = .833 -  .901).  Selain itu, maklum balas daripada responden berkaitan soal selidik juga dilihat untuk penambahbaikan kajian sebenar.

ABSTRACT

This pilot study was conducted to examine the level of  instruments reliability  used in the study of the relationship of supervision, stress and coping strategies on the performance of trainee counselors in Malaysia. There are four instruments used in this study, namely The Short Supervisory Relationship Questionnaire (S-SRQ) to examine the relationship of trainee counselors with academic supervisors, Counseling Psychology Trainee Stress Survey (CPTSS) to see the stress faced by trainee counselors and Coping Strategies instrument. Short Form Inventory (CSI-SF) to review coping strategies applied by trainee counselors. The last instrument is the Counselor Performance Inventory (CPI) which studies the performance of trainee counselors in Malaysia. The respondents of the study consisted of 30 trainee counselors at one of the public universities in Malaysia. The findings of the study show that the level of reliability of the instrument is at a high level (α = .833 -  .901).  In addition, feedback from respondents related to the questionnaire was also known to improve the actual study.
