This special issue of the Journal of Building Performance presents extended articles which have been chosen from among the best papers in International Conference of Built Environment and Engineering (IConBEE2018).  The theme ‘Enhancing Construction Industry Through IR 4.0’ was intended to spur new ideas for a technologically advanced sustainable construction industry. A total of 11 papers from various backgrounds in the built environment and engineering discipline had been vetted, reviewed and accepted in this issue. We hope that the readers will benefit from this issue especially for the process of revolutionizing the industry to be ‘future-ready’.
