Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file should be in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Manuscript has been prepared using the provided template.
  • Three (3) potential reviewers have been nominated.
  • All authors have agreed with the Journal Policies.

Instructions for Authors

International Journal of Materials Chemistry publishes open access, peer-reviewed papers reporting the results of original research and critical reviews on all aspects of Materials Chemistry. All accepted papers will be published without publication fee.

Authors are encouraged to submit high quality, original work that has not appeared in nor is under consideration by other journals. Papers may be written in English or Bahasa Malaysia. Please prepare your manuscript by using manuscript template (or for Bahasa Melayu template). Articles will typically be published online as soon as they are ready.

Type of paper

1. Full paper - Original research papers should report the results of full length original research. The materials should not have been previously published elsewhere, except in a preliminary form.

2. Review paper - Review articles should cover subjects falling within the scope of the journal which are of active current interest. The journal welcomes reviews, however, authors should contact the Editors-in-Chief prior to submission to ensure appropriateness for publication.

Authors may download and use the provided template in preparing manuscript. Please suggest three (3) names of potential reviewers. Howevr, editor will not necessarily approach these reviewers.

Online Submission

Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscript via our online submission system. Authors will need to register prior to manuscript submission.

Editorial Processes

  • Upon submission  authors will receive a tracking number.
  • The editorial office will perform initial quality check on the manuscript to ensure the manuscript is prepared in accordance to the pre-scribed format.
  • Editor for the manuscript will be assigned.
  • Provided that the manuscript is within the Journal's remit, reviewers will be appointed. Manuscript that is not within the Journal's remit will not be reviewed, and authors will be notified.
  • Reviewers are expected to respond (to accept or to decline) the appointment within 7 days.
  • Within 21 days from the acceptance date reviewers are expected to submit their reports. 
  • Based on the comments by reviewers editor will recommend a decision to the Editor-in-Chief. 
  • The Editor-in-Chief will make the final decision. 

 

JOURNAL POLICY: It is IJMC policy to publish only original and unpublished research work therefore IJMC does not wish to receive any papers on research work that has already been reported in parts or contains already published text, data, figures, tables or other illustrations or any copyright materials whatsoever that has been submitted or accepted for publication either in a journal or conference proceedings elsewhere in any form, in print or in electronic media. Authors work should contain no form of plagiarism (i.e. ideas, data, words, figures, etc.). When submitting a manuscript, authors should make a full statement to the Editors that the research work contained in their manuscript is completely original and unpublished. If redundant or duplicate publication is attempted or occurs authors should expect immediate editorial action to be taken including prompt rejection of the submitted manuscript. Submission of any manuscript that contains redundant or duplicate publication of the same or very similar research work violates the policies of this journal.

It is the sole responsibility of all authors to ensure that all manuscripts are new, original and not published previously in any form any media, shall not infringe upon or violate any kind of copyrights of others and does not contains any plagiarized, fraudulent and improperly attributed materials. Extended and modified versions of previously published abstracts, papers in any conference or journal are not allowed whatsoever.

Authors must follow this "Journal Policy" strictly.

 

 

Privacy Statement

Int. J. Mat. Chem. is published every three (3) months in April, August and December of the year. We accept manuscripts both in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Papers must be submitted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review, or thesis) and are not currently under consideration by other publishers.

The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that the article's publication has been approved by all the other co-authors. It is also the authors' responsibility to ensure that the articles emanating from a particular institution are submitted with the approval of the necessary institution. Only an acknowledgment from the editorial office officially establishes the date of receipt.

Further correspondence will be sent to the author(s) before publication unless otherwise indicated. It is a condition of submission of a paper that the authors permit editing of the paper for readability. All enquiries concerning the publication of accepted papers should be addressed to the Editor-in-chief.
