Abstract

Da'wah Through New Media in Malaysia: Opportunities or Challenges?

The advent of new media nowadays is seen as an important platform for da’wah among people in Malaysia. The explosion of social media such as facebook, instagram and twitter provides a new opportunity for dai’e (Muslim preacher) due to its fast attribute in spreading information. Therefore, it gives a positive impact in da’wah activities. However, the spread of da’wah messages via new media contributes to problems and challenges among dai’e. This paper discusses the roles of new media and its challenges in da’wah activities in Malaysia.
