EDUCATIONAL IDEAS IN IMAM AL-SHAFI'I'S POETRY
Idea- idea Pendidikan dalam Syair Imam Al-Shafi‘i
Abstract
The prominence of Imam al-Shafi‘i in the field of Arabic literature is well recognized. The Diwan al-Shafi‘i or Anthology of Imam al-Shafi‘i demonstrates that he is among the scholars who expressed numerous poems on the themes of knowledge and education. Imam al-Shafi‘i’s poetry on knowledge is rich with realistic educational ideas grounded in the Qur'an and Hadith. His poetry is easily understood, employs beautiful language, and conveys concise and contemporary messages. Therefore, the approach used in this study is text analysis. The findings also confirm that poetry was one of the communication mediums used by Imam al-Shafi‘i to convey his educational ideology, alongside his wise sayings and book writings. His concepts and ideas can serve as references and guides for enhancing the understanding of the concept of knowledge.
