Abstract

According to Sirah Nabawiyah's study and research on both past and contemporary Islamic da’wah, it is evident that the medium for conveying Islamic teachings is dynamic; it can change or diversify through the creation of new methods that suit current needs. For instance, in the Malay Archipelago, Wali Songo created wayang kulit as a medium for da’wah. Similarly, Nahdatul Ulama composed and performed songs with themes of divinity that resonated with their listeners. These methods extend beyond just lectures or sermons. Today, the rapid development of museums as crucial institutions that play roles in collecting, preserving, treating, and exhibiting both tangible and intangible heritage of a nation's history also opens opportunities for effective Islamic da’wah. As a result, this study focuses on the Pahang Museum’s da’wah theme. Using a descriptive-critical analysis method, the researcher examined and analyzed historical documents found in the Servitude Gallery at the Pahang Museum. This study shows that 1) Museums can spread the word of God through the teaching methods of artifact exhibition galleries as an extra way to teach in schools; 2) The Servitude Gallery focuses on several specific themes of preaching, such as: a) how Sharia, Usuluddin, and Tasawwuf are connected; b) how knowledge, power, and jihad work hand-in-hand; and c) how Allah's 99 names (Asma' Allah al-Husna) can help people's lives. These findings show that museums have effectively served as a medium for Islamic da'wah, as evidenced by the Pahang Museum.
