INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION AS A PREACHING METHOD FOR MULTI-ETHNIC COMMUNITIES
Komunikasi Antara Budaya sebagai Metode Dakwah untuk Masyarakat Multi Etnik
Abstract
Culture and communication are inseparable; they not only determine who communicates with whom, about what, and how behavior unfolds, but culture also influences how people formulate, pay attention to, and interpret messages. Intercultural communication arises when the source of the message is a member of one culture and the recipient is a member of another. This situation can lead to various issues between ethnic groups, as messages formulated within one culture must be rephrased in another culture. Cultural diversity is not something that will disappear in the future, which allows for the planning of strategies based on mutual understanding. Today’s world cannot avoid the necessity of interactions between individuals, groups, and other countries. This need represents both domestic and international awareness, leading to a universal culture due to intercultural interactions. However, in the process of fulfilling the human need for interaction, obstacles may arise, potentially causing adverse effects on human existence.
