Abstract

The importance of this research lies in addressing the issue of ideological religious extremism and terrorism in an academic and scientific manner. We aim to open the doors wide for scientific research in this challenging field and its related areas, including any research that explores the dimensions and manifestations of this phenomenon in both the Arab and global communities. The objective of the study is to clarify the concept of political and religious extremism and to demonstrate its relationship with terrorism. To achieve this goal, a descriptive (analytical) methodology will be used, which, as you know, relies on studying the phenomenon as it exists in reality and focuses on describing it accurately. One of the key findings of this research is that extremism exists within every society, party, and group. Intolerance of differing opinions and beliefs, and the negation of others, has existed since the dawn of humanity and will continue as long as human life persists because it relates to human nature, inclinations, and psychology. Extremism often leads to terrorism, making extremism a precursor to terrorism and extremist societies breeding grounds for terrorist movements.
