THE POSITION OF TAWASSUL IN ISLAM
Kedudukan Tawassul Dalam Islam
Abstract
Tawassul is a method of supplicating to Allah SWT. Recently, the issue of tawassul has resurfaced among the Muslim community due to some irresponsible parties creating controversy to confuse Muslims' understanding of their beliefs. Questions have arisen about tawassul: whether it is related to creed, a method of supplication, a form of innovation leading to misguidance, or actually a part of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. These questions have caused confusion among Muslims about the distinction between valid and invalid tawassul. Therefore, this article serves as a valuable resource for Muslims to reexamine the position of tawassul in Islam, aiming to clarify and strengthen their understanding of the true concept of tawassul as prescribed by the Qur'an and Hadith. It is hoped that this article will help Muslims distinguish between legitimate and illegitimate tawassul.
