THE ROLE OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION TEACHERS IN THE FORMATION OF STUDENTS IN KUNAK DISTRICT NATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL, SABAH

Abstract

The formation of student morality is closely related to the implementation of da'wah activities in schools by Islamic education teachers. Therefore, this study isconducted to analyze the role of Islamic education teachers in shaping the students' morality in national secondary schools in Sabah's Kunak district. The research design is a survey. This study was conducted at three Kunak national secondary schools, which involved male and female students in form four. Data collection through instrument set of questionnaire and processed using Statistical Packages for Social Science (SPSS Version Version) computer software. The data were analyzed descriptively statistically in the form of frequency, percentage and mean score. Results of the study The role of Islamic Education Teachers in shaping students' behavior in Kunak District Secondary School found that certain items showed the highest mean. Among them, Islamic Education Teachers are encouraged to get a score of 59.3% and mean 4.54, Islamic Education Teachersprovide guidance and Islamic Counseling score 55.8% and mean 4.48, and Teachers of Islamic Education convey religious knowledge to students and society score 53.9% and mean 4.45. This study suggests that teachers, parents and educational organizations pay attention to adolescents in forming a good and holistic character. The formation of moral character among students should be taken seriously by the teachers of Islamic Education in order to produce Muslim individuals who can balance the noble values in terms of appreciation and practice of Islam in life.
