Abstract

Stress is a common emotional phenomenon among working women today due to their substantial responsibilities. Working women not only fulfill roles as wives and mothers but also have duties related to their careers and social lives. Whether minor or major, stress must be effectively managed to avoid negatively impacting mental well-being and life harmony. This article aims to discuss the understanding and factors of stress according to al-Ghazali, a prominent Islamic scholar with expertise in spirituality. It also explores the methods proposed by al-Ghazali for overcoming stress. The study finds that among al-Ghazali's methods for managing stress are striving against one's desires, recognizing the transient nature of life, remembering death, increasing dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and observing individuals in less fortunate circumstances to appreciate Allah's blessings. These methods are highly beneficial for today's working women to handle stress wisely and successfully balance their roles as wives, mothers, and professionals in both this world and the hereafter.
