Kepuasan dan Pengalaman Pelajar terhadap Edupelancongan Kampus

Abstract

Edupelancongan adalah suatu perjalanan untuk tujuan pendidikan formal mahupun tidak formal. Edupelancongan juga merupakan pembelajaran sepanjang hayat dalam persekitaran semula jadi, sejarah dan budaya yang unik. Mulanya edupelancongan diperkenalkan di negara-negara maju yang melibatkan pelajar universiti serta pelajar sekolah. Makalah ini bertujuan untuk menilai keberkesanan aktiviti dan pengalaman program edupelancongan hutan hujan tropika yang dianjurkan oleh Edupelancongan UKM Bangi daripada perspektif pelajar sekolah yang telah menyertai program ini. Kajian ini telah menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif iaitu pengumpulan data melalui pengedaran soal selidik secara persampelan bertujuan. Sebanyak 51 pelajar sekolah rendah yang merupakan peserta Program Edupelancongan di Kampus UKM Bangi terlibat dalam kajian ini. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa aktiviti yang dianjurkan oleh Program Edupelancongan Kampus UKM Bangi telah memberi kesan yang positif kepada pesertanya. Para pesertanya dapat mengenali pelbagai jenis tumbuhan dan mempelajari ekosistem alam semula jadi hutan hujan tropika. Program ini turut memberi pengalaman yang bermakna di samping menambah pengetahuan pelajar sekolah terhadap hutan hujan tropika. Kesimpulannya, aktiviti dalam setiap program yang dianjurkan mempengaruhi keberkesanan serta memberi pengalaman kepada pesertanya. Ini dibuktikan apabila di akhir program, peserta gembira, dan menghayati sikap prihatin dan menyayangi alam semula jadi.

ABSTRACT

 

Edutourism is a journey for formal or informal educational purposes. Edutourism is also a lifelong learning in a unique natural, historical and cultural environment. Initially, tourism was introduced in developed countries involving university and school students. This paper aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the tropical rainforest activities and experiences organized by Edutourism UKM Bangi from the perspective of school students who have participated in the program. This study has been using quantitative approach, the data collection through distribution of questionnaires by purposive sampling. A total of 51 primary school students who participated in the Edutourism Program at the UKM Bangi Campus were involved in this study. The findings show that activities organized by the UKM Bangi Campus Education Program have a positive impact on the participants. The participants are able to recognize the types of plants and study the natural ecosystem of the tropical rainforest. The program was also provides a meaningful experience as well as enhancing the knowledge of school children towards the tropical rainforests. In conclusion, activities in each organized program influence the effectiveness and experience of the participants. This is evidenced when at the end of the program, participants are happy, and appreciate attitudes of attentiveness and love for nature.
