Abstract

Perubahan landskap politik pilihan raya di negara ini telah mengundang pelbagai sentimen di kalangan rakyat Malaysia. Persepsi yang dilontarkan pula berbeza-beza kerana dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor seperti maklumat politik semasa dan isu politik itu sendiri. Bermulanya situasi pandemik Covid-19, transisi politik berlaku dengan lebih ketara sama ada di peringkat nasional, negeri dan DUN. Mutakhir ini juga, senario politik sedemikian menyebabkan sedikit sebanyak mempengaruhi pilihan politik pengundi di masa hadapan. Justeru itu, tujuan artikel ini ditulis untuk menganalisis sentimen politik semasa di kawasan DUN Paya Jaras, Sungai Buloh, Selangor. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah mengumpul data lapangan yang meliputi sosal selidik, temu bual dan pemerhatian di lapangan. Teknik menganalisis data menggunakan Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Hasil kajian mendapati responden banyak memperoleh maklumat politik dan berita melalui media elektronik kerana lebih dipercayai. Majoriti responden juga menyifatkan keadaan politik semasa di kawasan kajian adalah masih baik dan berpuas hati walaupun terdapat isu semasa yang tidak sepenuhnya ditangani oleh pentadbir di kawasan DUN Paya Jaras. Namun begitu, kajian juga mendapati bahawa ramai juga yang tidak mengambil tahu tentang isu semasa berkaitan politik di kawasan kajian. Responden juga berharap agar politik dan pentadbiran dilaksanakan dengan adil, berintegriti dan profesional.

ABSTRACT

The changing political landscape of elections in the country has brought various sentiments among Malaysians. Perceptions are vary because they are influenced by many factors such as current political information and the political issue itself. With the start of the Covid-19 pandemic situation, the political transition took place more significantly at the national, state and DUN levels. More recently, such a political scenario has to some extent influenced the political choices of voters in the future. Therefore, the purpose of this article is written to analyze the current political sentiment in the Paya Jaras DUN, Sungai Buloh, Selangor. This study uses field data collection methods consisting of questionnaires, interviews and field observations. The techniques used to analyze the data was using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The research has found that respondents obtain a lot of political information and news through electronic media because it is more reliable. The majority of respondents also described the current political situation in the study area is still good and satisfied although there are current issues that are not completely addressed by the administrators in the Paya Jaras state constituency. However, study also found that many are also unaware of current political issues in the study area. Respondents also hoped that the political and administrative would be implemented fairly, with integrity and professionalism.
