Abstract

ABSTRAK

Apabila menjelang pilihan raya, pelbagai jenis konflik akan timbul antara parti politik yang bertanding terutamanya apabila dalam membentuk gabungan dalam pakatan. Dengan ini, kita dapat melihat pelbagai tingkah laku yang akan wujud dalam kalangan para pengundi apabila memilih calon yang selayaknya untuk membentuk sesebuah kerajaan. Hal ini berlaku apabila tahap pengetahuan dan kefahaman masyarakat terhadap konsep geopolitik etnik di sesebuah kawasan tersebut. Justeru, adalah menjadi tujuan penulisan kertas kerja ini untuk menganalisis geopolitik etnik dan tingkah laku politik di kawasan Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Kuala Perlis, Perlis. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah mengumpul data lapangan yang melibatkan soal selidik, temu bual, pemerhatian di lapangan dan rujukan sumber sekunder. Penganalisisan data dilakukan melalui perisian Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) versi 25.0. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa hanya 30 peratus responden yang tahu mengenai konsep geopolitik etnik dan selebihnya iaitu 70 peratus responden tidak tahu mengenai konsep tersebut. Seterusnya, tahap kefahaman berkaitan konsep geopolitik etnik ini hanyalah 22 peratus dalam kalangan responden dan selebihnya tidak faham iaitu 44 peratus serta tidak pasti berkaitan konsep tersebut adalah sebanyak 34 peratus. Seterusnya, 39 peratus daripada responden yang berminat dengan politik di kawasan tersebut manakala selebihnya tidak berminat dengan politik iaitu 62 peratus kerana bagi mereka politik pada masa ini amat merumitkan dan tidak stabil. Hasil kajian juga mendapati bahawa 46 peratus responden akan memilih parti politik yang meletakkan calon yang sama etnik dengan mereka dan 32% responden juga tidak setuju dengan perkara tersebut. Secara kesimpulannya, kajian ini amat penting kerana ia dapat membantu dalam menambah ilmu pengetahuan, menambah data berkaitan kajian politik pilihan raya di kawasan kajian dan juga diharap dapat menjadi rujukan kepada parti politik dan pihak kerajaan supaya dapat meneliti isu dan permasalahan yang berlaku agar lebih peka dalam memenuhi keperluan masyarakat sebaik mungkin.

ABSTRACT

When the elections are approaching, various types of conflicts will arise between the competing political parties, especially when it comes to forming alliances in alliances. With this, we can see various behaviors that will exist among the voters when choosing the right candidate to form a government. This happens when the level of knowledge and understanding of the community towards the concept of ethnic geopolitics in an area. Thus, the purpose of writing this paper work is to analyze ethnic geopolitics and political behavior in the Kuala Perlis, Perlis. In this study, it uses field data collection methods that involve questionnaires, interviews, observations in the field and references to secondary sources. Data analysis is done through software the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 25.0. The results of the study found that only 30 percent of respondents knew about the concept of ethnic geopolitics and the rest, 70 percent of respondents did not know about the concept. Next, the level of understanding related to this concept of ethnic geopolitics is only 22 percent among the respondents and the rest do not understand which is 44 percent and are not sure about the concept is as much as 34 percent. Next, 39 percent of the respondents are interested in politics in the area while the rest are not interested in politics which is 62 percent because for them politics at the moment is very complicated and unstable. The results of the study also found that 46 percent of respondents will choose a political party that puts up a candidate of the same ethnicity as them and 32 percent of respondents also disagree with the matter. In conclusion, this study is very important because it can help in increasing knowledge, adding data related to the study of election politics in the study area and it is also hoped that it can be a reference for political parties and the government so that they can examine the issues and problems that occur in order to be more sensitive in meet the needs of the community as best as possible.
