Abstract

ABSTRAK

Semangat patriotisme dilihat mampu dipupuk melalui permainan tradisional khususnya dalam aktiviti pengajaran dan pembelajaran mata pelajaran Sejarah. Faktor pemodenan menjadikan penggunaan bahan digital dan elektronik banyak diguna pakai dalam PdP harian, lantas strategi dan amalan permainan tradisional perlu dirangka dengan teliti bagi menyuburkan semangat patriotisme dalam diri murid. Kontemporari segenap aspek misalnya penciptaan E-games menjadikan isu dan cabaran dalam memupuk semangat patriotisme perlu diatasi. Kajian ini merupakan tinjauan awal berdasarkan sumber literatur sekunder kualitatif bagi mengenal pasti kepentingan pemupukan semangat patriotisme melalui permainan tradisional,mengkaji amalan dan strategi permainan tradisional serta menganalisis isu dan cabaran pemupukan semangat patriotisme terhadap kemenjadian murid. Hasil dapatan kajian awal mendapati pemupukan semangat patriotisme mampu disumbangkan oleh guru dan usaha pihak sekolah. Misalnya, guru Sejarah menyampaikan konsep patriotisme, sentimen positif dan merancang aktiviti pemupukan nilai yang melibatkan murid. Kepentingan kajian ini jelas tertumpu kepada guru Sejarah yang bersinergi dalam memupuk semangat patriotisme dengan menggunakan kaedah-kaedah menarik terutama permainan tradisional. Oleh yang demikian, mata pelajaran Sejarah mampu menjadi medium dalam memupuk semangat patriotisme di samping membawa warisan budaya sebagai identiti kepada seluruh rakyat Malaysia.

ABSTRACT

Patriotism is the key of integration among people that able to be fostered through traditional games, especially in teaching and learning activities in History education. Modernization factors make the use of digital and electronic materials widely used in daily classroom studies and the strategies and practices of traditional games need to be carefully framed to foster a spirit of patriotism in students. All contemporary aspects, for example the creation of E-games, make issues and challenges in fostering a spirit of patriotism need to be overcome. This study is an initial review based on qualitative secondary literature sources to identify the importance of cultivating the spirit of patriotism through traditional games, studying the practices and strategies of traditional games and analysing issues and challenges in cultivating a spirit of patriotism towards becoming students. The results of the initial study found that the fostering patriotism could be contributed by teachers and the efforts of the school. For example, the History teacher conveys the concept of patriotism, positive sentiment and designs value-building activities that involve students. The importance of this study is clearly focused on synergy of History teachers in fostering the spirit of patriotism by using interesting methods, especially traditional games. Thus, the History subject can be a medium to instil patriotism at the same time bringing cultural heritage as an identity for all Malaysian citizens.
