15th State Election: Voting Patterns by Voting Channel in the Area of State Legislative Assembly Constituency of Labu (N20), Negeri Sembilan
Abstract

ABSTRACT
The 15th State Election in Negeri Sembilan saw the State Legislative Assembly Constituency area of Labu won by the Perikaran Nasional (PN) candidate from the Party of BERSATU, Anip Abu Baker, with a majority of 1,640 votes. Although many parties had predicted the expected victory, many still wondered about the defeat of the PH/BN candidate from PKR who was previously a former EXCO and a native of Labu. In GE-14, the PH candidate won with a majority of 882 votes. This defeat raised a thousand questions and attracted attention to be investigated, evaluated and investigated, especially by the ruling party which was the government at the time. There are three questions that are being discussed and understood for this study of the results in the area of N20 Labu. First, the researcher will highlight the results of the State Legislative Assembly Constituency area of Labu election since it was held in 1959. Second, the researcher will look at the voters in each Voting Channel for each Voting District in the State Legislative Assembly Constituency area of Labu. The third objective, the researcher will try to raise issues that are hovering in the State Legislative Assembly Constituency area of Labu until voters in almost all voting channels are dominated and won by the PN candidate. This study uses secondary sources from Election Commisioner reports, journals, books, papers, websites and online newspapers as research data. This data is analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study show that there is a rejection of Malay voters in almost all voting channels in the State Legislative Assembly Constituency area of Labu to the candidate from the Unity Government (PH). This may be due to the confusion and doubt of voters, especially Malay voters, towards the collaboration between the PH supported by DAP and BN led by UMNO. Therefore, the writing of this article can certainly provide a further picture of the manner and pattern of voters’ voting in the State Legislative Assembly Constituency area of Labu which is flexible and dynamic and forms a new narrative for politics in Negeri Sembilan as a whole.
