Abstract

ABSTRACT

With 1,248 publications from 2005 to 2025 retrieved from Web of Science database, this study undertook a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of AI-powered document forgery research. The findings indicate fairly rapid growth in this topic, particularly an annual growth rate of 31.7 per cent. United States led with 404 publications while China follows with 320 publications. Four groups were distinguished, being challenged by this study, namely the nature of the risk (deepfakes, identity fraud), methodological tools (machine learning, deep learning), defensive architectures (blockchain, cybersecurity), and forensic analysis (detection methods). Presently, 32.5 per cent international collaboration is highly earn in the study (highest being 42 per cent of the UK). The study posits that almost no real ethical research is associated with the socio-legality of these aspects of nasty and AI document forgery around the world, though that such a wide supply of products should exist at some point in society. Although there are some new frontiers of digital forgery, this study constrains itself to forgeries based on the large (GPT-3/4/X) manipulation of complete texts with disruptive and blazingly deceptive and massive forgeries chaining block. It is the first complete map of the entire subject giving the researchers and market policy-makers a perspective on the causes-finals that are still to come.
