Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contents of the book Ihya’ Ulum al-Din by Al-Ghazali to obtain information regarding the concept and characteristics of professional Islamic Education teachers (GPI) based on 'riadhah ruhiyyah'. This study uses the content analysis method to obtain data on these professional attributes. The study sample is the book Ihya’ Ulum al-Din, Volume 1, published without a year by Dar al-Ma’rifah in Beirut. The unit of analysis in the content of the book studied focuses on the fifth part of the book related to the manners of teachers and students. The findings of the study show that the characteristics of professional teachers based on 'riadhah ruhiyyah' extracted from the content of the book include dimensions of the relationship with Allah S.W.T., the relationship with oneself, the relationship with colleagues, and the relationship with students.
