Abstract

The issue of leadership is not an issue just discussed. In fact, it has been mentioned in the Quran and sayings of the Prophet s.a.w. The theory of Islamic leadership has made the Prophet as the best model of leadership both from the point of family, administrative, economic, political and so on up to bring a very big change. Western scholars also not lose sight of the debate on this issue and a form of leadership that their study is a transformational leadership. The theory has also taken by them as a guide of various groups and organizations in Malaysia currently. Terms of word changes that are used in the Islamic leadership is not much different with the terms of the transformation that is used by the West because both have the same definition. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the theory of leadership from the perspective of Islam and the West in terms of leadership transformation and analyze the similarities and differences of perspective on leadership theories Islam and the Westin terms of transformational leadership. This research is using qualitative descriptive analysis method document. The results showed that the theoretical leadership of Islam and the West has its own theory to create some similarities and differences in various angles.
