THE LEVEL OF SATISFACTIONS AMONG MUSLIM CONVERTS TOWARDS RELIGIOUS CLASSES IN KOTA BHARU DISTRICT BY MAJLIS AGAMA ISLAM KELANTAN (MAIK)
Tahap Kepuasan Mualaf Terhadap Pengurusan Kelas Bimbingan Agama oleh Majlis Agama Islam Kelantan (MAIK)
Abstract
Religious guidance is very important for mualaf. A well-organized and systematic guidance will help them to know more and better understanding of Islam so that they can perform the ibādah properly. However, some of them who have been embracing Islam for a long time, still not able to perform their prayers properly. There are also those who are not strong in faith and fall into apostasy. This research is conducted to evaluate the level of satisfactions among mualaf towards religious classes conducted by Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Istiadat Melayu Kelantan (MAIK). The quantitative method is applied using survey research by distributing questionnaires to 120 respondents among the mualaf who attended the class. The data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS software. The findings show that the level of mualaf’s satisfaction is at a good level in overall with a mean value of 3.40, with standard deviation of 0.982. Therefore, there are several areas that require improvement or consideration from MAIK such as reviewing the frequency of classes held. In addition, it seems that age difference, period of conversion, level of education, and background of the mother tongue should also be considered in restructuring the class to be more effective and productive.
