THE ROLE OF SCHOLARS IN PREACHING DURING THE COLONIZATION OF MALAYA
Peranan Ulama Dalam Dakwah Semasa Penjajahan Tanah Melayu
Abstract
The da’wah conducted by scholars in Malaya during the colonial period was adapted to the contemporary conditions. Similarly, the strategies for da’wah were aligned with the interests of that time. During the colonial era, scholars engaged in da’wah using various methods, aiming to awaken societal awareness to resist the colonizers by any means possible. Studies of books on the history of the struggle of Malay scholars against colonial powers and books on da’wah reveal the role of scholars in da’wah within the fields of education and politics.
