DA’WAH IN DIMENSION OF SPRITUALITY PALLATIVE BASED ON BADI' AL-ZAMAN SA'ID AL-NURSI APPROACH
Dakwah dalam Dimensi Kerohanian Penjagaan Paliatif Menurut Pendekatan Badi' Al-Zaman Sa'id Al-Nursi
Abstract
Dakwahis an invitation for people to practice and commit to Islamic teaching. It covers various aspects of life and involves all social status. This effort includes dakwahthat must be submitted to the terminally ill patients for they can end their life in better way and attain ḥusn al-khātimah or good death. In the medical field, the concept of treatment and care for those patients who suffer from chronic pains and have given up hope of a cure is known as palliative care service which is basically provided by hospices. However, it is to be observed that dakwahto those terminally ill patients is lack of appropriate attention. Therefore, this article is to examine al-Nursi’sway of thinking with regards to his approach of dakwah to the spiritual dimension of palliative care. This understudy of this article uses the text analysis methodology. This study found that the dakwahapproach of al-Nursi in palliative care is using the emotional appeal method with al-maw’idzah al-ḥasanah(goodly exhortation) and al-targhib(inspiriting) in order to generate ḥusn al-ẓan(good expectation) in patients’ mind about predestination. This research found that al-Nursi has brought a concept of dakwahwhich can contribute to better understanding of the spiritual dimension of palliative care as according to the Islamic teaching.
