AL-GHAZALI'S PREACHING APPROACH TO THE GOVERNMENT
Pendekatan Dakwah al-Ghazali kepada Golongan Pemerintah
Abstract
Various da'wah approaches need to be practiced to guide Muslims in adhering to the true teachings of Islam in their lives. One crucial target group for da'wah that should not be overlooked is the rulers, who have the power to govern the country according to their principles. This group should not be neglected, particularly in reminding them to perform their duties with full trust, dedication, and responsibility in line with Sharia principles. The well-being of society and the nation greatly depends on its leaders. Therefore, this paper will discuss Al-Ghazali's da'wah approach towards rulers in his time, where he advised them directly through writings and letters, emphasizing da'wah with a focus on ethics. Additionally, this study aims to explore lessons that can be learned from Al-Ghazali's da'wah approach. Ultimately, the study is expected to provide ideas for developing effective strategies for da'wah towards rulers, and to encourage rulers to accept criticism from the public openly, to enhance governance and improve relations between the governed and the leaders.
