Abstract

This article aims to discuss the concept of national identity within the Philosophy of Islamic Education through the school education system. It will also explore the fundamental principles of national identity related to the Islamic perspective. This article focuses on the results of a literature review that clarifies the meaning of national identity to provide a comprehensive understanding of the concept. The discussion reveals two different dimensions in understanding national identity: the educational dimension based on state ideology, and the Islamic perspective which views nationalism as an aspect within Islam, due to its ummah nature. However, this study focuses on the dimension of the education system that shapes students at the secondary level and beyond.
