THE STRESS OF ONLINE LEARNING DURING THE MCO AMONG STUDENTS
Stres Pembelajaran dalam Talian Ketika PKP dalam Kalangan Mahasiswa
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted aspects of learning when online learning has replaced face-to-face learning during movement control command (MCO). It has presented challenges to students because they have limited space to interact with lecturers and fellow students. They are not able to interact closely for discussions and informal learning. Heavy workloads and limited physical contact can burden them and increase stress levels. This quantitative study uses a survey method also to determine the stress students face during online learning. The research instrument is a questionnaire using the Perceived Stress Scale-10 developed by Sheldon Cohen and translated into Malay by Sami Abdo Radman Al-Dubai et al. The respondents consisted of 100 UKM students. The findings of the study found that students are under a moderate level of stress when learning online. The study found that the personal aspect had the highest mean of 3.53 compared to the learning aspect's 2.89 and the financial aspect's 2.80. Students' stress-reduction strategies include thinking positively, worshipping and getting closer to God, and sleeping.
