Abstract

Da’wah is not a new concept within Islamic civilization. The methods of da’wah in Islam are not confined to any specific approach but should adapt to the circumstances of the time. In the contemporary era of modernization, media has emerged as a vital source of knowledge closely connected to people. Media enables the acquisition of information and discussions over vast distances, making it a significant channel for disseminating information from one source to another. The success of Islam in the past, which started with a religion based on knowledge and noble values, reached a remarkable level of historical civilization. Although da’wah through media existed since the time of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the methods have evolved compared to today. This study discusses the concept of da’wah through media, the conditions required for media-based da’wah, and the role media should play in Islam.
